The NYS LEAH Commencement Ceremony is held each year at the close of the annual
Parenting and Home Education Conference. The purpose of the ceremony is to provide a
special time to acknowledge the Lord’s role in each family’s homeschooling efforts and
to give Him glory, honor, praise, and thanksgiving for guiding each family.

The ceremony is somewhat traditional, caps, gowns, diplomas, but it is also unique, as
each graduate may submit photos and personal scripture verses, and the parents present
the diplomas to their graduates. The Lord is always present and touches many hearts.
To participate, each graduate must submit a registration form sometime between
December 1st and January 31st of their senior year. This form is available online at the
LEAH website. The family of the graduate must have been a member of NYS LEAH
for a minimum of two years. For more information, contact John and Holly Phillips at
upstatecommencement@leah.org, or by phone at 607-868-5518.
